iPhone 3G Reception Problems?

For those of us still interested in the iPhone 3G which I hope will be launching soon by SingTel. Maybe we want to hold back a little? Hopefully they will solve the reception issues by the time we actually get a official launch date.
Complains, discussion all over at the Apple official forums here and here.
I probably will not use it as my main phone should I be able to get my hands on one. My work relies heavily on communication via my mobile. I will probably be fired if I’m not contactable.
I have to agree with Cube, ‘What’s with the hype?’. Our local stalls are selling the iPhone 3G for $2388 Singapore dollars openly or even higher. Of course, no one is forcing us to buy the phone at such prices, but still… I really hate such shops.
Seriously, I just want something that works. I’ve had experiences with Windows mobile, Symbian based mobiles. I’m getting tired, things don’t exactly work its suppose to be. Crashes etc, acts up when I need to do work. Maybe I’m only the unlucky one.
Ah yes, even the Blackberry devices in my company acts up on me from time to time.
Hopefully the 2.0 enterprise features lives up to its expectation.
